Re: DevTools Position.

Oh, I see; I don't use Edge Preview, hence my confusion. I guess it is embedded Edge Preview DevTools's own limitation (because why would Rickard want to switch it off?), which sadly can't be circumvented via command. I think you need -- at least for the time being -- position two windows next to ea...

Re: DevTools Position.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Devtools" -- a panel (View > Panels > ...)? Don't you see visual hints in the form of cross of mini-fields where you can dock it (see attachment below), when you move it with your mouse? Simply put, you can drag a panel to one of screen's borders, and when you see blue...

Re: HTML Tidy options, what happened to them?

Whilst I completely acknowledge that creating consistent menu hierarchies and labels is a difficult task, in this case it seems counter-intuitive to have "Beautify XML" under a menu titled "HTML" ... as much as you, me and the gatepost know it's a 'front' for whatever functionality HTML Tidy can pr...

Re: Auto hints / completion / etc ... completely disable?

Is this image a confirmation of the auto completion post-dismissal focus box (bug?) I mentioned? That's probably similar, if not spot on to what I was trying to refer to. My intention was simply to demonstrate that Captura can record and show pressed key combinations on screen (so there's no need f...

Re: Auto hints / completion / etc ... completely disable?

Would like to, but it would need subtitles demonstrating the keypresses or something :) May I recommend a program for that? It's called Captura (sadly it has been discontinued) and it has ability to record keystrokes: ezgif.com-optimize.gif Original file (I saved it as a gif) had almost 8 MB, but I...

Re: Search accepts invalid regexes

It wont help in your example though. The regEx engine only reports actual errors. It doesn't offer any validation of the expression or display any warnings before execution. I know. I tried to find a list of such invalid regexes -- some are called evil , but failed. Perhaps this could be tackled in...

Re: Auto hints / completion / etc ... completely disable?

For example, typing the following in a CSS file: top:-1px; ... becomes: top:auto-1px; Any thoughts please? How does it happen? I mean, do you type a semicolon after the CSS declaration and then it suddenly changes to the second version? Or do you press another key/key combination? Perhaps you could...

Search accepts invalid regexes

Is it a bug? Is it a feature? After some deliberation I decided it's the former. I tried to replace all occurrences of string |yes at the end of the line with |1 , so I used |yes$ as my "find" string, checked "regular expressions" box, hit "replace all" and my editor hung. Then I did some experiment...

Absolutely! You can attach shortcuts to predefined actions (Environment > Customize keyboard), external tools (Tools > Configure tools), text clips (View > Panels > Text Clips) and macros.

Re: [SOLVED] Re: Brace matching seemingly not working

Well, not sure why this is greyed out and why the RHS check boxes are empty, B/c these settings are the same as the default ones (=for "All Languages"). Click on the RHS checkboxes to activate them. but fairly certain the Highlight braces option has always been enabled, yet it did not work / does n...

Re: [script] Simple Backup System for RJ TE

After some tinkering I came up with something like this: var i, j; var docNameFull = Document.FileName; var docPath, docNameExt, docName, docExt; i = ScriptUtils.RightPosFrom("\\", docNameFull, 999); j = ScriptUtils.RightPosFrom(".", docNameFull, 999); docPath = copy(docNameFull, 0, i); docExt = cop...

Re: [SOLVED] Re: Brace matching seemingly not working

Thanks for your help pjj No need to embarrass me, really, I feel enough ashamed: instead of making you do experiments with portable version, I could have noticed there's "highlight braces" setting in the Options window  and that's probably the factor being the cause of your not seeing brace h...

Re: Brace matching seemingly not working

It works for me, but it means nothing to you since we're on different versions. (Perhaps you could check it out on the newest portable version, if you prefer no to upgrade right now?)

How about MatchingBraceAction? Does it work for you? You know, Search > MatchingBracket?

Re: [script] Simple Backup System for RJ TE

I'd love to help, but perhaps it would be feasible for you without any script? There's an option to save remote files locally (Options > Editor > File > Save remote files), but you need to pick location for each saved file. If you decide that this is not what you want, sure, we can tackle the script...
