FIXED: Replace, replace, replace!

Post by pjj »

So, I decided to rejuvenate myself in a most quick and easy way! I put this text into an empty document:

Code: Select all

I am 100 years old.
Then I hit ^R, put 100 in "Text to find" and 12 in "Replace with" and hit "Replace." ...Whoa, now

Code: Select all

I am 12 years old.
Cool! Very cool. Then, being wet behind the ears, I was in a playful mood and hit "Replace" again, five times!

What. The. Heck.

Code: Select all

I am 121212121212 years old.
Please, fix it, I don't want to be taken to a museum!

(I verified this on another machine. Doesn't matter if search window is modal or not. Checking "Continue search beyond end of file" is irrelevant, too.)

:-D
It only happens when you're using the standalone window. The bottom-bar search works fine :?

I'm currently working on some new features (import/export settings and program data, and maybe a snapshot feature for open documents), but I'll fix it when I get the time...

That sounds interesting, do you mean something like EditorConfig?

No! But perhaps that could be added as well :-D

Import/Export program data can be used to create a backup of all your settings, current theme, FTP profiles, text clips... Or you can use it to copy your settings to a different machine.

I reckon this is a very good idea!

FWIW I have no idea how practical this EditorConfig thing is, but I guess it'll do RJ TE good for the discoverability, i.e. more people would learn about its existence.
