...or can even hang the editor.
I have a couple of text clips, which I insert with key combinations; they sometimes have %sel% (e.g. quotes) and sometimes not (e.g. ndash). Inserting them lasts like 5 seconds or longer (before it was instant) and sometimes it can even hang the editor. Interestingly, RJ TE behaves this way only with first text clip; subsequent ones are inserted without delay.

I can't reproduce this.
The all clip data is read from disk. Do you use a hdd or an SSD? If you use an hdd - does it automatically power off?

My clips are on the HDD, which doesn't power off. It all worked smoothly with the previous version, so I assume it's due to the newest beta.
Just after pressing the shortcut caret jumps to the proper position on the right and only after several seconds chars appear; e.g. it jumps six ticks and then in ~three--five seconds " " is displayed. Moreover, after first delay with certain clip, subsequent calls to the same clip result in almost instant reaction, but with another clip whole thing repeats itself, i.e. one has to wait a couple of secs before the new text is displayed, and then repeating the same shortcut keys gives immediate results.

1. Does it happen when you double click on a clip inside the tree view as well?
2. Can you give a few examples of shortcut combinations you use?
3. Maybe you could send me your settings file (again)...

Ad 1: No, double-clicking on clips inside a panel inserts desired text immediately.
Ad 2: Sure thing:
is inserted on Shift+Ctrl+Space; funny thing, when I delete this shortcut in Edit Item window and press it again, I get a message "Assigned to: ClipAction2" and I can't assign it again
is inserted on Shift+Ctrl+' ("Assigned to: ClipAction0")
Ad 3: No problem at all; in a moment.
Ad 2: Sure thing:
Code: Select all
Code: Select all
„%sel%”
