Backup file edits didn't work

One of the few times I needed to recover something from the backed up edit files and it didn't work.
I deleted a section of a file.
Then did a bunch of edits.
Then I realized I should have gotten a copy of the deleted section.
And I didn't want to undo all of those edits to get it back.
Then I remembered that I have the Backup Edits turned on.
So I saved the file and went to the backup edits folder
and there was no backup file there.
So I exited the editor thinking maybe that's when it created the backup and it still wasn't there.
Just a copy of some files I edited recently (and thousands of others over the years).
So who knows what happened, but maybe you could look at that and see why it didn't create the backup file.
I just looked at the folder again, and it did create a backup of the file after the save mentioned above
after I made some more edits and saved it again. ( index_(rj-texted_2023-01-26 11.26.13.872).php )
I assumed it creates a backup file every time you do a SAVE.
I think that's the way it should work, anyway.
To be safe. (I think you have to do that so you don't lose anything)
Below is a snapshot of my Backup files Options.
