WinMerge x86 32b or WIn 10 64b?

Ask how to do things or if a certain feature is available in the program.

WinMerge x86 32b or WIn 10 64b?

Post by rjbill »

WinMerge is now (?) available as a 64-bit program.

I have 32-bit installed.

I wasn't sure if that was because RJTE required that, or what?

Does it matter?
RJTE version 16.15 (actual?) - 64-bit
Win 10 Pro 64-bit 8 GB RAM Intel Core i7-6700 3.40 GHz SCSI Hard Drive 1 TB

Note: The signature is dynamic, not static,
so it may not show the correct version above
that was in use at the time of the post.

I believe it doesn't matter, really. I could use x64 version and it works alright, just tried it. (In fact I use RJTE's own tool.)
Btw x64 version of WinMerge has been available since 2018.

Yeah. I generally don't mess with stuff or upgrade too much.

"RJTE's own tool"? Is it built-in "now"? So no need for external program?

Yes, it has been built in since some time now and it is default tool for comparison. It works pretty well.
