Using 10.23b1
When opening a file using Windows Explorer, right click, RJ TextED, it takes almost 3 seconds for the file to show up in TextED (while TextED was already running)

Re: TextED slow to open a file
I tried this with both the exception catching software enabled and disabled and there seems to be a very noticeable difference. It should work faster in the final release (release version without the exception catcher).
Re: SOLVED? TextED slow to open a file
The version without exception catching software enabled is indeed faster for smaller files but 2 to 3 times slower for the 390MB .reg file:
- loading HKLM.reg takes about 22 seconds
- loading HKLM.txt takes about 6 seconds (same file, other extension)
And for searching in the file:
- search for "TextED.exe" takes around 1 second per match in the .txt file
- search for "TextED.exe" takes between 10 and 30 seconds per match in the .reg file
