The text in 2018 is used for the menu item to open the incremental find bar in the top right corner of the document window (Ctrl+E).

Other German software uses the term "Inkrementelle Suche"
This sounds just as cryptic as the English term may sound to English users (or maybe not), but anyway, that's what it's called. but I am open to more meaningful expressions, if there is one.
I like your translation, micha-he, all words fit perfectly, couldn't possibly come up with anything better :D

Hmmm, German Wikipedia begs to differ
and suggests
Vorschlagssuche -- I don't speak German, but this sounds pretty powerful to me. I could even use it instead of "Donnerwetter!"

Vorschlagssuche has never crossed my path before, but hey, "Zum Donnerwetter", why not.
You like powerful, how about
Blitzsuche? Lightning fast.
Shorter than both other terms. And unique, just like RJTE.
Opera uses Inkrementelle Suche

Personally, I don't really care, my abstract mind remembers the shortcut only.
