Re: Auto hints / completion / etc ... completely disable?
Would like to, but it would need subtitles demonstrating the keypresses or something :) May I recommend a program for that? It's called Captura (sadly it has been discontinued) and it has ability to record keystrokes: ezgif.com-optimize.gif Original file (I saved it as a gif) had almost 8 MB, but I...

Woohooo! Thanks RickardRickard Johansson wrote: ↑09 Dec 2021 19:56 To completely disable auto completion set the delay in options to -1 (not the most intuitive option in there...). Ctrl+Space still works if want completion help.

Re: Auto hints / completion / etc ... completely disable?
For example, typing the following in a CSS file: top:-1px; ... becomes: top:auto-1px; Any thoughts please? How does it happen? Very good question. Something tricky to relate or even video! Will give it a little more attention so I can detail that more. There's definitely an auto-complete context me...

Auto hints / completion / etc ... completely disable?
Hi I cannot type code without it being regularly broken, disrupted, incorrectly overwritten by auto-completion or hints or whatnot (I'm sure there are many names or terms). Is there any way to entirely disable keyword-based auto-completion? Here is a shot of what appears to be, I think, the most rel...

Re: [SOLVED] Re: Brace matching seemingly not working
Well, not sure why this is greyed out and why the RHS check boxes are empty, B/c these settings are the same as the default ones (=for "All Languages"). Click on the RHS checkboxes to activate them. but fairly certain the Highlight braces option has always been enabled, yet it did not wor...

Re: [SOLVED] Re: Brace matching seemingly not working
Thanks for your help pjj No need to embarrass me, really, I feel enough ashamed: Not my intention, no need :) instead of making you do experiments with portable version, I could have noticed there's "highlight braces" setting in the Options window  and that's probably the factor bei...

[SOLVED] Re: Brace matching seemingly not working
Thanks pjj I just 'installed' the latest portable version available for download, then the program prompted an update so installed that. Alas, the default RJ-TE is *very* different from my regular version. Rather than setting everything up again, is there a settings export / import option? I looked ...

[Kind of SOLVED] Re: Brace matching seemingly not working
Hi Thanks so very much for all the hard work. Unfortunately Brace matching does not appear to be working for me in a CSS context (at least) Checked Change History, there was a bug fixed in 14.70: * Rare brace matching issue that may occur with certain theme options. ... running a more recent version...

Re: HTML Tidy options, what happened to them?
It's easy to get lost in the labyrinth of RJ TE's menus... and it's easy to forget (I'm speaking about myself, lol) that we even have dedicated search for menu items :-D (It's located in the right top corner, in the menu bar; default shortcut is Ctrl+H.) Oh, I just assumed that was searching someth...

Ah, that's the one, thanks.
I flicked over that and saw "Validate ..." without seeing the rest.

[SOLVED] HTML Tidy options, what happened to them?
Hello Have the options to clean up / reformat / pretty print HTML, XML, been removed? I cannot find them, which is not unusual, but I've tried several times. Still no luck. Searched help and there's only a reference to the scripting method. Weird. I have a chunk of XML dumped from a web service that...

Re: Auto-close panels after mouse isn't over it
No problem, I thought that might be what you meant. Nice screenshot to tell a thousand words . Helps a lot. When to trigger the hiding is a little tricky because if people mistakenly hover a few pixels to the right, for example when trying to click a scroll bar, the panel would disappear annoyingly....

Crash reporter
Hi
In all honesty, and without wanting to vent or be harsh or anything, RJ TextEd still crashes way too often and randomly at that.
Would a crash reporter not help to reduce these crashes? A lot of other apps have one integrated.
