Re: MPad (RJ Texted Lite)

Yes, well, on a fast machine with instant drives, that might be the case. The only reason for a 'Lite' version is for those without lighting-fast machines. For example, my i7 3.3ghz laptop with 8gb Ram and a SATA 2 SSD takes 8 secs when opening a full project using RJTextEd with multiple files in th...

Re: MPad (RJ Texted Lite)

No, of course not. It is the 'light' version of RJTextEd. Lighter in functionality and hopefully quicker to fire up. Try the Context Editor, it is still downloadable. It is very much an RJTextEd-Lite. I believe some of RJTextEd's functionality was inspired by Context to some extent. I use RJTextEd o...

Re: MPad (RJ Texted Lite)

How's progress on EdMin/RJmin/mini-Ed/Jsmall/TinyJ/LiteJ/Lite R ? I am still using Context as my RJLite and as you know Context is now very long in the tooth and unsupported for a good ten years now? I noticed that the old Context site has just had an update, I'm not sure what that says about the ol...

Re: Windows XP/Vista

Can confirm that - just did an install of XP and RJTextEd works fine, no issues. Good to have my editor of choice on Windows XP, 7 and 10.

Merry Christmas Rickard

That's it. A Merry Christmas to you Rickard and all RJTextEd users! Let's have a better year than the last two.

Re: No JavaScript for scripts?

Instead of using node.js which is rather bulky and to my mind intimidating, you could use the old YWE widget engine which uses ECMA 4 and build a desktop application that does whatever you want using javascript. It is a little old, being ECMAScript 262 edition 3 but there are .js polyfills available...

Re: RESOLVED - Tooltips on icons, where have they gone?

More digging and I found a similar problem, caused by Wanda in a VB6 implementation of balloon tooltips. When Xwidget's animated PNG of Wanda was running, the VB6 balloon tooltips would fail to show. As soon as Wanda was killed <sob> the balloon tooltips would re-appear. The only reason I mention it...

SOLVED - REQUEST: RJTextEd Block Comment icon change.

I will create my own icon and use the ImageListEditor.exe to make the changes, we'll see how that goes but I'd still suggest the default image should be changed. Though having the capability to edit myself is a good enough workaround for me.

Re: Question: Tooltips on icons, where have they gone?

I have figured out why tooltips are not showing and it may be something Rickard can work around or it may not... Most likely, the latter. My own set up here comprises a few runtimes that are in place to handle the programs and utilities that I use or those that have been written by myself. Examples ...

RESOLVED REQUEST: RJTextEd Block Comment icon change.

My request - I would suggest that the current block comment icon is a bit bland and does not really lend itself to suggesting what it is really for. This is an especial problem for me as I have not been able to switch on tooltips for RJTextEd for months now despite numerous reinstallations. Tooltips...
